Academy Terms & Licence
Terms governing the use of The Academy digital products and programs.
Belle & Company LLC · The Academy
PLEASE READ THESE TERMS CAREFULLY BEFORE PURCHASING OR ACCESSING ANY ACADEMY PRODUCT. BY PURCHASING ACCESS TO AN ACADEMY PRODUCT YOU AGREE TO BE BOUND BY THESE TERMS AND LICENCE.
1. Provider
The Academy products covered by these Terms are produced and delivered by Belle & Company LLC, a Florida limited liability company, operating under The Academy division ("we," "us," "the Company").
These Terms apply to the following Academy products:
- The Approach — a self-directed educational guide and checklist (PDF deliverable)
- The Edit Discipline — a self-directed educational programme (Kajabi course)
Further Academy products may be added to these Terms over time. The terms applicable to each product are set out in Section 7.
2. What These Products Are
The Approach is a self-directed educational guide and self-assessment checklist, delivered as a PDF. It sets out the firm's readiness standard as an instrument you can apply to your own work. It is a one-time purchase, delivered immediately upon payment.
The Edit Discipline is a self-paced educational programme delivered through The Academy on the Kajabi platform. It provides skills-based instruction in editorial standards, portfolio positioning, pricing and usage, client communication, AI disclosure, and professional practice for creative professionals.
3. What These Products Are Not
All Academy products are educational resources only. Purchase of, enrolment in, completion of, or achievement within any Academy product does not constitute:
- An application to Belle & Company for talent representation;
- A pathway to representation, roster review, or any commercial relationship with the firm;
- A guarantee of employment, income, or commercial outcome; or
- Legal, financial, or business advice.
The Academy is education. It is never a pathway to representation. This firewall is absolute, regardless of product completion or results.
4. Eligibility
By purchasing any Academy product, you confirm that you are:
- At least 18 years of age;
- Purchasing for personal, professional development purposes; and
- Legally able to enter into a binding agreement under the laws of your jurisdiction.
5. Licence Grant and Restrictions
Subject to your payment of the applicable fee and your ongoing compliance with these Terms, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable licence to access and use the Academy product you have purchased for your own personal, professional development purposes during the access period set out in Section 7.
You must not:
- Share, resell, redistribute, or sublicence access to any Academy product or Academy materials to any third party;
- Copy, reproduce, or extract Academy materials in whole or in substantial part for redistribution or publication;
- Use Academy materials to create a competing educational product or programme;
- Remove or alter any copyright, trademark, or proprietary notices from Academy materials;
- Record or capture audio or video of on-demand course sessions without prior written consent;
- Share login credentials or permit any other person to access a course using your account; or
- Use any AI tools, automation, or systems to extract, reproduce, or redistribute Academy content or materials, whether in whole, in part, or in summarised form, for any purpose other than your own personal study.
6. Intellectual Property
All Academy materials — including but not limited to PDF guides, checklists, video content, workbooks, frameworks, templates, written guides, and branding — are the intellectual property of Belle & Company LLC and are protected by copyright law. © 2026 Belle & Company LLC. All rights reserved.
Nothing in these Terms transfers any intellectual property rights to you. Your licence to use Academy materials is personal and limited as set out in Section 5.
Where Academy materials include frameworks or template language (such as model contract clauses or usage language), those materials are provided as educational starting points only. They do not constitute legal advice and must be reviewed by a qualified legal professional before use in any commercial context.
UK buyers retain moral rights in their own work under the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988, which apply by operation of law regardless of governing law provisions.
7. Access, Delivery, and Product-Specific Terms
Access to Academy products is delivered digitally immediately upon confirmation of your purchase. The access period and delivery method are product-specific:
| Product | Delivery | Access Period |
|---|---|---|
| The Approach | Downloadable PDF, delivered immediately upon purchase | Permanent from date of purchase — the file is yours once downloaded |
| The Edit Discipline | Kajabi platform, accessible immediately upon purchase | Twelve months from date of purchase |
For The Edit Discipline: we reserve the right to update, revise, or add to course content during your access period. We will not remove content already included at the time of your purchase without reasonable notice.
For The Approach: we may issue updated editions of The Approach from time to time. Purchase entitles you to the edition current at the time of your purchase. Updated editions are not automatically provided to prior purchasers.
8. UK and EU Statutory Cancellation Waiver
For buyers in the United Kingdom and European Union:
By completing your purchase, you confirm that you have read and agreed to the following waiver, presented as a mandatory checkbox at checkout:
"I consent to immediate digital delivery of this Academy product and understand that, by receiving access or the download, I waive my statutory right of withdrawal under the UK Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 and/or the EU Consumer Rights Directive 2011/83/EU, as applicable."
This waiver applies once digital access or the download has been delivered. It does not affect your statutory rights in respect of faulty or mis-described products.
9. Data and Privacy
We collect and process personal data in connection with your purchase and product access in accordance with our Privacy Notice, available at belleandcompany.com/privacy.
Purchases of The Edit Discipline are processed through Kajabi (platform delivery) and Stripe (payment processing). By completing your purchase you acknowledge that your data will be processed by these third-party providers in accordance with their respective privacy policies.
10. Refund Policy
All sales are final once access to or delivery of an Academy product has been confirmed.
Because Academy products are digital products delivered immediately upon purchase, we do not offer refunds once access has been granted or a download has been delivered, regardless of whether you have accessed or used the materials.
Where required by applicable consumer law:
- UK buyers: The statutory right of withdrawal under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 is waived at checkout by a mandatory checkbox confirming consent to immediate digital delivery.
- EU buyers: The statutory right of withdrawal under the Consumer Rights Directive 2011/83/EU is waived at checkout by the same mandatory confirmation.
If you have a concern about your purchase, contact us at info@belleandcompany.com before completing your transaction.
11. Academy Communications
By purchasing an Academy product, you will receive transactional communications relating to your purchase and access, including purchase confirmation and delivery instructions.
Separately, you may opt in to Academy marketing communications (programme updates, new releases, editorial resources) during the purchase process. This is optional and you may unsubscribe at any time.
Belle & Company's commercial representation practice communications are maintained on a separate list and are not affected by Academy purchases or unsubscription.
12. Disclaimer
All Academy products are provided for educational purposes only. Results are not guaranteed. Belle & Company makes no representation that purchase or completion of any Academy product will result in any particular commercial outcome, employment, income, or professional advancement.
Academy materials reflect the professional experience and perspective of the creator(s) and are not a substitute for qualified legal, financial, or business advice.
13. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law:
- Belle & Company's total liability to you in connection with any Academy product shall not exceed the fee paid by you for that product; and
- Belle & Company shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use any Academy product, including but not limited to loss of income, loss of data, or loss of business opportunity.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, including liability for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
14. Changes to These Terms
We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. We will notify purchasers of material changes with reasonable notice. Your continued access to any Academy product following notification of changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
If you do not accept updated Terms, contact us at info@belleandcompany.com.
15. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, United States of America, without regard to conflict of law principles.
Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Florida, except where applicable consumer protection law in your jurisdiction requires otherwise.
For UK and EU buyers, nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights under applicable consumer law in your jurisdiction.
